Rev. Thomas brings a variety of leadership and expertise to the organization. Thomas worked globally for many years as a Supervisory Special Agent with both the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) and the Department of Justice (DOJ). Thomas was charged with conducting sensitive investigations and operations. Thomas is a two-time recipient of the prestigious Global War on Terror medal. Thomas joined the United Palace of Spiritual Arts as the Senior Director of Security and Community Liaison in 2018 and was ordained as an interfaith minister in 2020. Thomas was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in 2022. Thomas is dedicated to ensuring his standards of excellence are reflected in the organization and its employees.

JOSE M. ROMAN
Proud Latino, born and raised in New York City, with a nearly forty-year career dedicated to public service. Dr. Román has worked on issues as varied as youth development, civil rights, HIV/ AIDS, vaccine research, and international emergency relief and development. His work has been global in its reach: Dr. Román has visited nearly 30 countries and helped manage programs in another 80+. Dr. Román is a graduate of the City University of New York where he received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in economics and minored in Business Administration and Finance. He then went on to New York University School of Law and received a Juris Doctor. Dr. Román also has a Doctorate in Ministry from New York Theological Seminary.

ANA OFELIA RODRÍGUEZ
Ana-Ofelia is a multilingual Community Development individual who focuses on bringing people together through the arts and promoting exemplary projects by highly trained professional artists and educators whose passion is to work with people in marginalized communities. In 2002 she introduced legendary artist Faith Ringgold to Broadway Housing Communities to begin a conversation on the need of more structured spaces for children to learn about art. These conversations with Ms. Ringgold culminated with the creation of the first children’s museum in Harlem. The Sugar Hill Children’s Museum of Art and Storytelling, is a beacon of hope for current and future generations of children and families of Northern Manhattan.
BRIAN ROGERS
Brian Rogers is a career professional in Human Resources, with a focus on Compensation and Benefits. Currently the Director of Compensation, Benefits and HRIS at the Clinton Foundation, he held similar roles at American Sugar Refining/ASR Group and US Foodservice. Brian holds a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Connecticut and an HR management certification from Cornell’s Institute of Labor Relations. He lives in Ridgefield, Connecticut with his wife and two children.
EARL FOWLKES
Earl Fowlkes serves as the President/CEO of the Center for Black Equity, Inc. He founded the IFBP in 1999 as a coalition of organizers in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and South Africa to promote a multinational network of Black LGBTQ Pride and community-based organizations. Earl has worked on health, political and LGBTQ issues in many communities for over thirty years. Earl currently serves as Chair or Co-Chair of several non-profit boards of directors and advisory boards, including the Damien Ministries and the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce Communities of Color Initiative.
